creating a morning routine

I wish I had the discipline (and good fortune!) to always wake up before the kids.

I did this morning, but I wasn’t expecting to, so I’m frantically trying to do things just for me! Here’s what I’ve done in the past half hour…

1) peed. unhurriedly and with the door closed.
2) drank a diet dr pepper. ahhh.
3) called my husband on his way to work to visit since i barely told him “bye” when he left.
4) read the daily readings
5) put my current favorite song on repeat to get in a good mood (“Dynamite” by Taio Cruz)
6) blogged!

Creating a morning routine is part of “One Bite at a Time: 52 Projects for Making Life Simpler”.

I’m going to think a little bit more on it today, and then actually write a routine. If I can’t do it first thing in the morning, I’ll just make it what I do when I have the first opportunity.
